Day 11: Drafted

Day 11 consisted of finishing work on the hand hewn log we started last week. Elwin used the 6 inch planer on it and we had the thing so close to being square on 3 sides that Instructor Joe was amazed.

Then it was off to the drafting board. It was this exercise that made me realize how good, or how simple Timberframing is at New Energy. The machine is given all the measurements created in CAD to cut a simple brace with a 1 inch housing and a 2 inch tenon. I’m sure it will get easier, but attempt number one has been interesting.

I am planning on buying a laptop tomorrow. Any fixes to the current laptop has been futile and not really helped. I hope pictures will be available tomorrow.
